Set in approximately 4 acres of gardens within the meadow that gives the name to the house Dolmelynllyn (translates approximately as Meadow of the yellow lake) the house stands overlooking the valley, with the formal gardens to the east and south. There is plenty of room for guests to relax and take in the view. The gardens include the fountain area that was designed in the early 1800's which leads into woodland and also the cascade of small waterfalls at the bottom of the garden . This river  also provides the water supply to the hotel (It makes you think your bathwater has run directly from the top of a welsh mountain via the  waterfall to provide you with the softest of baths).

Take a Stroll around the Gardens with Me!

To the west there is a kitchen garden and north a small raised paddock used for events and an orchard. The orchard wall also contains some listed bee bowls that used to provide honey and wax for candles  for the estate over 200 years ago.

Walk to the south and cross the small bridge and you reach the ornemental lake. Walk to the north and follow a gently sloping path for approximately 5 minutes to find yourself at the base of the Black falls one of the most spectacular in Wales where the Gamlan river flows down to the Mawddach.

And spend some time on the  east terrace as the sun sets with drink in hand. This also  provides the venue for the weekly BBQ in summer a perfect end to the day. Looking back down the driveway in the meadow you will see the tallest of several wellingtonias (California Redwoods) in the meadow this one with a girth of over 10 meters is most likely the second biggest in wales and a beautifull specimen
